Oregon ranks 32nd · 27 October 08
The Oregonian reports that our fair state ranked 32nd out of 50 states in the strength of laws relating to transparency and accountability. The recent rankings by the Better Government Association were covered in a story by reporter Dave Hogan.
According to the story, “The rankings placed Oregon 22nd in conflict-of-interest laws, but 37th in open meetings laws.
“Other Oregon rankings: 25th in open records laws and 32nd both in whistleblower and campaign finance laws.”
