The West Linn Tidings is working to publicize a settlement between the city of West Linn and its former auditing firm, according to reporting by the newspaper.
The city is seeking reimbursement from “Pauly, Rogers and Co. and accountant L. Parry Ankerson, who signed off on financial audits even as a city employee embezzled $1.4 million.”
West Linn aims to recover some of the embezzled money from the auditor that missed the fraud.
City officials say they won’t release details of a deal until all parties agree to a settlement amount. The West Linn Tidings requested the information last week.
