Thanks to everyone who’s booked tickets, this year’s Oregon & SW Washington SPJ awards banquet has sold out.
The banquet moved to a smaller venue this year due to declining ticket sales at previous banquets due to the economy. But interest is clearly high, with the venue selling out five days before the event.
For those who didn’t get a chance to buy a ticket, we’ve got good news. Next year, the SPJ board hopes to expand to a larger venue to accommodate the burgeoning interest in journalism in Oregon.
If you’ve been notified that you won an award this year, but won’t be able to attend the banquet, please drop Oregon SPJ president Laurent Bonczijk an e-mail (laurentlnb at gmail.com) with mailing information.
For those who’ve booked their tickets, here are the details:
Celebrate the best in Oregon and SW Washington journalism at SPJ Oregon’s annual banquet May 21, featuring host Portland radio personality Carl Wolfson. Price of admission includes dinner, choice of chicken, steelhead or vegan pasta, and no-host bar. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., Sat., May 21 at Paragon, 1309 NW Hoyt St, in Portland, Or.
